  3. Be a part of the International Service Team (IST). It is expected that some 10,000 adults ages 18 and over will be serving as a part of the Jamboree Staff. They selected from the USA will be a part of the BSA Contingent. It is expected that registration will open by November 1. Applications will be vetted and then sent to the Jamboree Planning Team in Korea who will make the selections and position assignments.

NOTE: Contingent Management Team (CMT) applications are no longer being received. CMT Team leads have been announced and decisions on the makeup of the rest of the CMT are continuing.

A simple four step process will be used to select participants. Really it is more of a screening process to confirm eligibility than a selection process. The first step for those youth who wish to attend will be to register and pay their deposit. It is expected registration will open by November 1. As applications are received, they will be sent to the applicant’s local council office. They will verify eligibility and council support. The applications then go to the USA Contingent Management Team who will give the final approval and notify the applicant. When the time is right (see below) participants will receive news of their unit placements.

After  unit leaders have been selected and at a point when enough participants have registered units will be formed based on geography, gender and, possibly, whether or not scouts will be attending both the National Jamboree AND World Jamboree. Those who register after the initial unit assignments will be placed in units that do not have the full allotment of scouts. Units will not be organized by troop, council, or territory.
